Netting is going into a sea of 5,000 fish and catching 10 of the most premium yellowfin tuna. Networking on the other hand looks more like being in a sea of fish you likely would throw back the majority of. It’s time to break from the norm and start making the most of our reels in the professional space.

Networking: The exchange of information or services among individuals, groups, or institutions. This is the definition presented by the Merriam-Webster dictionary. The problem with this is that these exchanges lack intention by design. Without additional substance, networking on its own is way too aimless, yet our society has placed a high value of networking without placing an equally high value on being deliberate.

I’ll admit, it triggers me. I feel anxious about how overused the term “networking” is. Companies force us to do it, and for what?

Let’s take networking events for example. You buy a ticket to attend these spaces, essentially pay for mediocre food, and spend extra cash on drinks. On top of all of this, you may be paying for travel as well. And at the end of it, there’s a great chance you walk away with nearly nothing to show for it. Even if you do end up making a connection or two, it’s likely up to chance. But it doesn’t have to be so uncalculated...

This is where netting comes in. As an incubator for creating valuable connection spaces, EKOS.ai will help net users for you so that you’re making the best use of your time and meeting with people who are relevant to your goals. People who can help you find your next job, grow your team, share insight or even just offer mentorship.

Think about all the emerging topics that are backed by heavy interest, but just don’t have the platforms to match. If you’re interested in blockchain, NFTs, or crypto, are you able to find a community that is readily full of individuals who you are suggested to meet with due to their interests, experiences, and hobbies?

This idea of netting is valuable for literally anyone in any space with any intention of connecting.

Let’s take the start-up tech space for example. There are so many avenues for networking in the entrepreneurial space that these opportunities have become extremely diluted and oversaturated. There are thousands of networking events, and many of them still don’t put you in front of the right people. Given the current format, you’re required to make a significant effort, both financially and through time invested. You may find yourself having to travel halfway across the world. But for what?

The same connections can be made with the press of a button, and a little bit of AI magic.

EKOS.ai is the platform that fixes networking when networking is not working. When you sign onto our platform for the first time, you provide us with your Markers. These are the points that define your interests, experiences, roles, and hobbies. These go hand-in-hand with your defined goals. We don’t share your goals with others, but they remain as part of your profile and they can be readily edited. This foundation builds your EKOS.ai persona.

I’ve been netting for the majority of my life. Whenever I have a goal, I find people who are relevant to those objectives. I seek people based on their interests, skills, backgrounds, and experience. And to meet them, I look for mutual interests that organically bring us together.

By taking these steps, we can stop networking and start netting. This is what EKOS.ai is all about.
